let get straight out to fox 29's dave schratwieser who is live in drexel hill tonight. dave? >> reporter: dawn, the murder of a young mother here followed by the abduction of her two sons did lead to a multi state manhunt that ended in new york this morning. tonight those two boys are without a mother and a father. >> i never expected that so anything like this. >> reporter: police left this home on the 200 block of abby terrace in drexel hill with a samurai sword and other evidence as they unraveled a bizarre crime that left a mother murdered, her children taken from her home and the children's father dead by his own hand. >> allegedly, he posted on facebook he had an argument with his wife. she was cheating on him and he wouldn't. >> reporter: it started around 2:00 a.m. police say 31 year old keith bell bellajonas stabbed ad shot his wife 28 year old christina corrigan bellajonas in front of their two children. he took off with the four and five year old boys amber alert was issued and a multi state manhunt followed. they ended up on staten island.

>> goes in a cvs that allegedly employees his brother. sticks up his brother. takes cigarettes, money. >> reporter: he left the children unharmed at the cvs. minutes later he was located by the nypd in a car dead from an apparent suicide. >> i feel sorry for the kids now. think about the two of them losing their parents in one night. >> reporter: the boys were unharm. child youth services will decide where they will be placed next. >> the older of the two is telling everybody about daddy killed mommy type thing. >> reporter: all this left neighbors shaken along this quiet street where the couple had lived for less than year. >> the place in my opinion is unfit for human hab by teague. >> he took their mother from them and that's not fair. >> reporter: police did recover one of the murder weapons here at the crime scene. a spokesperson at the nursing home where christina worked refused comment today. saying folks were too busy grieving her loss. did not want to comment at all. family members were also

unavailable for comment. lucy? >> all right, dave. police are hoping a new search at pennypack park in northeast philadelphia will reveal clues into the death of a woman who was out exercising monday night. the philadelphia police special investigations unit has taken over the case. investigators have been looking through the bushes and brush today hoping for any evidence that could lead them to the person who strangled 46 year old connie mcclain murray. police say her mobile phone and headphones she had on when she out monday night are still missing. and investigators are also looking at surveillance video from the area that may show what happened. the reward for information leading to an arrest is now at arthritic thousand dollars including donations from citizens crime commission much the fop and philadelphia federal credit union. >> new jersey authorities are looking for a psychiatric patient who escaped while making a court appearance in ewing. police say oliver grayson is a high-risk patient at the hospital. they describe him as a light skinned black man age 28, 5-foot

10 and 200 pounds. he was last seen wearing a black baseball hat blew gray jacket and beige pants. if you know anything about where he might be, give police a call. >> happening now in the pacific ocean, hurricane iselle and julio are churning toward the hawaiian islands at this hour. you can see the surf already starting to kick up. as if two hurricanes aren't bad enough, an earthquake rattled the islands today as well. the quake was just a 4.5 magnitude. so there was no major damage and the focus still remains on these two incoming storms. chief meteorologist scott williams tracking all of this, and scott, this is the first time in 20 years that hawaii is looking at something like this. trouble in paradise. the last time a hurricane made a direct impact on hawaii was back in 1992. watching iselle category one storm maximum winds 75 miles per hour. but right on its heels we're talking about category two hurricane maximum sustained winds 105 miles per hour.

but as we take look at the the next 12 hours, spa got tee plots taking it right to the big island within the next 12 hours. and that will be a direct hit for the big island. it should weaken bit right now it's a minimal category one hurricane but it can weaken to tropical storm. we'll keep you posted but the path takes it right toward the big island and eventually moving it just south of honolulu as we move into early friday. 65 miles per hour winds and then the continues moving on off to the west. now coming up we'll have the timing of julio and how it will also impact hawaii over the neck several days and talk about our nice weather ahead for friday and weekend preview is next coming up. >> all right, thanks, scott. a florida woman is now charged in the death of her five year old little girl who was reported missing from a carnival in new jersey back in 1991. a grand jury in middlesex cun tee, new jersey, handing up that indictment. charging 47 year old michelle, with the murder of her son timothy wilt see.

remains of nine victims of the 1978 mass cult suicide murder in jones town, guyana have turned up in a former funeral home. state forensic investigators discovered dozens of containers ashes in the form minus funeral home. most were marked and identified. investigators are in you working to figure out the the identity of the unmarked containers so they can notify relatives. after the jones town massacre the bodies of hundreds of victims are flown to dover air force base home to the united states militaries largest mortuary. >> philadelphia police need your help in identifying a bank robber caught on camera wearing muslim garb, holding up a wells fargo branch on castor avenue in oxford circle. now this happened yesterday. the man handed the teller note. threatening and got away. but with no money. fortunately in one was hurt. if you saw something that may be able to help police you're asked to give them call. >> the paulsboro train dough rail many nearly two years ago could change the way things work all across the country.

new jersey senator bob menendez wants tougher penalties for railroads that violate safe tow rules to prevent similar accidents from happening. federal investigators blame the railroad for the derailment that leaked hazardous gas into the community. menendez did he see wants emergency officials to have more information on hazardous materials and calling for new safety procedures for certain railroad operations. >> state investigators say they have stopped a big scam targeting of all people grandparents. three people accused of dumping elderly victims -- duping elderly victim are behind bars. pennsylvania's attorney general's office announced these arrests today. spence sr. compass, lava let and johan west charged with criminal conspiracy, theft by deception and identity theft. the scammers are accused of stealing more than $152,000 from their victims. the arrests came after a nine month long investigation. >> based in pennsylvania, they're illegal activities targeted senior citizens in

eight least eight states. this window creates false fears among our senior citizens that their loved ones are in some kind of serious trouble and urgently need that are help. >> the suspects are behind bars on $1 million bail. they are all scheduled for preliminary hearing on august 21. investigators say they're still after one other person involved in that exam. >> atlantic city's troubled revel casino is now set to hit the auction block next week. the auction was slated for tod today. revels lawyers received multiple offers and need more time to review those bids. the hotel casino says it will close and lay off its 3,000 plus employees if it cannot find a suitable buyer. four atlantic city casinos have already closed or announced plans to shut down this year. >> a viewer counseled on fox 29 to get results. >> she says her neighbor was living on the porch they shared and making live difficult for her. what happened when we showed up to check things out.

♪ >> police in south jersey are trying to figure out who this man is. investigators say he pulled off really sneaky theft at cafe flora in cherry hill. this puck cher came to us from a cherry hill police department's facebook page. police say he tried to confuse a cashier by claiming did he not receive the correct change. police say he left with more money than he came in with. so call police if you know who this guy is. >> fox 29 getting results for neighbors tired of living in a make shift campground. frustrated homeowner in philadelphia's juniata neighborhood sent us this photo. she says that is her next door neighbor fast asleep and surrounded by trash on the front stoop they share.

seems hard to believe. we asked our bruce gore didn't to take look and he's live in the newsroom with the story. bruce, what a mess. >> reporter: absolutely. i'm told it's like that much of the year. at least when the weather is warm. we've seen one home destroy the look of a whole block before it's a problem all over philadelphia. but this, this was something else. the message painted at the end of the block is designed to send a message keep our neighborhood clean. most of the 4300 block of potter street is just that, with one glaring exception. neighbors say this front stoop has been turned into a make shift campground by the owner, this woman zen us this photo after suffering years of frustration. she shares the front stoop. >> i feel like a hostage basically. um, i can't enjoy the weather. i can't sit down on my steps enjoy the nice warm weather. >> reporter: neighbors say 63 year old richard osinski has been living outside of his home more or less full time for years. we came by the stoop was mess food containers filthy clothing

then for your friday, high pressure in full control. a lot of sunshine looking pretty nice and then for the up coming weekend a mix chef of sun and clouds and it stays on the comfortable side of things. the high temperature today made it up to 84 degrees. the normal this time of year is 86. so we were 2 degrees below average. we hit 90 degrees earlier in the week. but the bottom line the really hasn't been a brutal summer. we'll take it. low 80s right now. humidity at 38%. winds out of the north northwest at 12 miles per hour. so that drier air really continues to funnel into our area. yacht in atlantic city as well as dover. wilmington checking in at 80. 75 in lancaster. 80 right now in allentown. low 70s in the pock know mountains. frontal boundary well to our south. the heat and humidity to our south as well. so high pressure settling in overhead. so expect clear skies tonight. comfortable conditions. open up the windows let fresh air in. we'll run the clock friday morning. looking pretty sunny across the area.

friday evening plans out. dinner on the town. looking good. as we move into your saturday you can see the clouds and showers will stay to our south. more of the same as we move into your sunday as well. so a nice friday and nice upcoming weekend. we have two hurricanes we're watching in the pacific moving toward hawaii. the force one iselle category one hurricane. then a category two julio right behind it. the path takes it to the building island over the neck 12 hours a weak category hurricane one or tropical storm. but nonetheless moving right toward hawaii moving south of hasn't lulu during the day on friday as it continues to weak weaken. as we talk about julio's path it's a little farther to the north. still a category two hurricane tomorrow. but then it continues to move north of the main islands of hawaii as move into late saturday as well as sunday but it will cause more heavy rain as well as some rough surf. we'll keep you posted on both systems. 50s in the bush tonight. 62 degrees in the city.

looking comfortable. what about tomorrow? a dry delight. 84 degrees will be the high temperature. week and get away down the shore next several days 80 degrees. warm, don't forget the sunscreen. if you're headed down there. the rip current risk beginning to diminish but still swim with those lifeguards present. 79 degrees on saturday. upper 70s on sunday. looking pretty good down the shore. what about for the city, we're looking at temperatures tomorrow 84 degrees. 85 saturday. 84 sunday. low 80s monday and tuesday of next week. and tuesday we cloud up. there could be a spotty shower better chance for showers and storms by the middle part of next week. >> i don't think it gets much better than this for august. exactly. >> phillies have been looking pretty good lately. then begun they've been playing the has stress. >> that's true. >> you caught on quickly. >> i know. i love that. >> i used to live in houston. i know the astros well. >> exactly. >> well, they have some last minute tweaks in the lineup tonight those phillies, and the eagles look forward to their first game of the preseason
